The markets never sleep, and neither does opportunity. In the world of day trading, success isn’t just about staring at charts, it’s about strategy, execution, and, perhaps most importantly, community. Last week in the xBrat® Inner Circle Day Trading Live Room, we saw exactly how powerful this combination can be. Despite a slow start due to holiday volume, the week ramped up quickly, delivering a masterclass in volatility, precision, and profit across multiple asset classes.
Whether you trade Forex, Futures, or Crypto, the principles of price action remain constant. This week’s recap dives deep into the specific setups we took, the strategies that paid off, and how our members are leveraging the power of collective intelligence to lock in wins.
Navigating the Post-Holiday Volume
Every seasoned trader knows that volume is the lifeblood of the market. Without it, price action becomes choppy and unpredictable. We started the week cautiously, sitting out Monday due to low holiday volume. Patience is often the hardest skill to master, but knowing when not to trade is just as profitable as knowing when to enter.
By Tuesday, the markets woke up. Operating out of Dubai allows for a unique advantage trading both the European and US Open sessions. This overlap provides a sweet spot of liquidity where some of the biggest moves of the day occur. As the volume returned, so did the setups.
The Gold Pit Opening Range Trade
One of the first major wins of the week came from the Gold Pit opening range trade. Gold (GC) is a favorite among futures traders for its volatility and clear trends, but it can be unforgiving if you’re on the wrong side of the move.
The strategy here focused on the opening range, identifying the high and low of the initial trading period and waiting for a confirmed breakout. We caught a clean move, executed with precision. This trade set the tone for the week, demonstrating that once the institutional money steps in, the technical levels we watch are respected with incredible accuracy.
Forex and Futures: The Power of Correlation
A recurring theme this week was the synergy between Forex pairs and their corresponding Futures contracts. Understanding these correlations allows traders to double down on high-probability setups or hedge their positions effectively.
The 6E (Euro/USD) Futures Trade
On Tuesday, we turned our attention to the 6E contract (Euro futures). The setup was classic: we identified a bullish trend and entered long. As the price moved in our favor, the strategy shifted to trade management.
I adjusted the stop-loss aggressively to lock in profit as the market climbed. This is a crucial aspect of our methodology in the Inner Circle, we don’t just set and forget. We actively manage the trade to secure gains. On this specific 6E trade with four contracts, we locked in around $1,100. We held on until the price hit our final target, maximizing the move.
The GBP/USD Range Breakout
Simultaneously, we executed a Forex trade on the GBP/USD pair (the “Cable”). We applied the same breakout strategy used in futures. The market gave us a strong impulse move, a rapid, high-momentum price change that indicates heavy buying pressure.
We shared the entry and stop-loss levels live in the chat. As the price surged, we trailed our stops tight. While the market eventually whipped back and took us out, the aggressive trailing stop ensured we walked away with profit. This highlights a key lesson: you don’t need to catch the absolute top of a move to be profitable; you just need to capture the meat of the trend.
Crypto Perps: Shorting LINK
Diversification is key for the modern day trader. While currencies and commodities were moving, the crypto markets presented their own opportunities. We spotted a weakness in LINK (Chainlink) on the perpetual futures market.
Technical analysis indicated an overextended move, signaling a potential reversal. I called a short position, and several members followed suit. The price respected the resistance levels perfectly, dropping into profit. This trade underscores that technical patterns like support, resistance, and exhaustion work across all asset classes, whether it’s a centuries-old commodity or a digital asset.
Mid-Week Momentum: Thursday’s Day Trading Action
By Thursday, the trading room was firing on all cylinders. The community involvement was palpable, with members like “Captain Mal” and Rajesh sharing their own analysis and successful entries on pairs like EUR/USD and AUD/USD.
The Slingshot Strategy on Micro Oil (MCL)
During the US session, we focused on Micro Oil (MCL). Here, we deployed the “Slingshot Strategy.” This specific setup involves waiting for the price to test a market level, establish resistance, and then pull back into a specific zone.
The “slingshot” occurs when the price snaps back from that zone in the direction of the trend. We identified a short entry at 59.84. The trade progressed beautifully, hitting the profit target with little drawdown. This strategy is particularly effective in commodities like oil, which tend to trend strongly once a direction is established.
Dual Trading: USD/CHF and Futures
One of the standout educational moments of the week happened with the USD/CHF pair. I traded the Forex pair and the corresponding Futures contract side-by-side to demonstrate the versatility of our strategies.
- Forex: A sell stop order was placed on USD/CHF.
- Futures: A long position was taken on the inverse futures contract, 6S.
This might sound contradictory to new traders, but because the Swiss Franc futures are inversely correlated to the USD/CHF pair (since USD is the base currency in the pair), a short on the pair and a long on the future effectively trade the same view: Swiss Franc strength against the US Dollar.
We managed both trades live, updating stop-losses in real-time. The result? A combined profit of over $450 on the futures side alone, with the Forex trade also locking in gains. Seeing these charts side-by-side helped members visualize the relationship between different instruments.
The Copper King: Friday’s Big Win
I make no secret of my love for trading Copper. It’s known as “Dr. Copper” because it has a Ph.D. in economics, it’s a leading indicator for the global economy. But for us, it’s just a great instrument for technical trading.
Friday saw the biggest trade of the week on Copper. We tackled this on two fronts:
- Synthetic Copper: For Forex traders who might not have access to futures.
- Copper Futures: For the direct play.
The strategy involved a significant impulse move. We entered long, and as the price exploded upwards, we managed the trade aggressively. I shared every step: where the initial stop was, where the entry triggered, and exactly where the take-profit targets sat.
As the price surged, we moved the stop-loss to break-even quickly, making the trade “risk-free.” This psychological advantage allows a trader to let the winner run without fear of losing capital. Member Richard locked in his profit early at $750, a smart move that respected his personal trading plan. I held on a bit longer, using an Exponential Moving Average (EMA) to trail the stop. Eventually, the futures contract hit the target, and the synthetic trade closed with over $1500 in combined profit.

The Power of Community in Trading
While the profits are great, the true highlight of the week was the atmosphere in the xBrat® Inner Circle. Trading can be a lonely profession, but it doesn’t have to be.
Throughout the week, we saw members stepping up:
- Rajesh nailed a long on the Aussie Dollar (AUD/USD) and a short on USD/CAD.
- Richard locked in massive gains on Copper alongside me.
- Members shared their charts, validated setups, and celebrated wins together.
This collaborative environment creates a feedback loop of success. When you see others executing the strategy correctly, it builds your confidence. When you see a veteran trader manage risk live, it teaches you discipline better than any textbook ever could.
Key Takeaways for Your Trading Week
- Respect Volume: Don’t force trades on holidays or low-liquidity days. Wait for the market to come to you.
- Adapt Your Strategy: Use breakout strategies for strong trends and “slingshot” pullbacks for continuations.
- Cross-Asset Opportunities: Don’t limit yourself. If Forex is slow, look at Futures or Crypto. The patterns are the same; only the ticker symbols change.
- Aggressive Trade Management: Entering the trade is only half the battle. Learning when to trail your stop and lock in profit is what builds a growing equity curve.
- Community Matters: Surround yourself with traders who are serious about the craft. It accelerates your learning curve significantly.
